Mr. Ritter,
I like how you show how Louie makes peace by joking
around with Tyler. It's not only a way of showing
the type of character Louie is, but it also enhances
your chapter--it's humorous. This conversation is a
definite keeper.
I love your simile about Tyler and baseball going
together like peanut butter and jelly or tortillas
and beans.
On p. 24, you say that Lyle never saw "anybody else's
side of things", and that Tyler thought, "He sure
never saw mine." I thought about this and figured
that it was like having Tyler and his dad, Lyle,
fighting in a war.
Let me explain. When someone is having a war, they
are fighting because they think they are right. They
ALWAYS think they're right and the other isn't.
They won't even think that maybe the other is right.
Another thought is that Lyle never SEES Tyler's side
of things. Before, you said that it was like having
a brick wall between Tyler and Lyle; that's why he
never SEES Tyler's SIDE of things. He's on the
other SIDE and can't look over the wall.
I'm definitely into this book.
