I am not an advocate of war. I believe in peace. But I do not believe in "Peace for our time." It seems humans are bound to repeat their mistakes. An ostrich, it is said, hides its head in the sand if it senses danger. It thinks if it can't see the danger, then the danger can't see it. Foolish philosophy. The Europeans tried it before WWII. Can we blame them? No, they had been through "the war to end all wars." However, who knows how differently the history books would have been written had all the nations stepped in when Germany first invaded Poland? I see Kuwait as Poland was. Anti-war activists see only one side. The poor Iraqui children--and that was not written sarcastically. I do feel for them--is all these activists can see. Who mentions the poor Kuwaiti children? Everyone suffered in Iraq's invasion, down to the animals at the zoo. But, no, America did not rescue anyone, we only make Iraqis suffer--that was intended sarcasm. Hello? does anyone put any blame on Saddam Hussain? Its like trying to validate Hitler. If the nations stood together in 1939, six million Jews may not have been massacred. Yet we stand idly by and let thousands of Iranians die at Saddam's hand. Shouldn't America, as the strongest country, not make the same mistakes in the past? Shouldn't we stop the Hitlers of our age? Doesn't anyone care that Saddams's country is capable of destroying millions of people with chemicals and nuclear weapons? The difference between Saddam and Bush is that Saddam doesn't care about human life, his Kuwaiti invasion and his massacre of Iranians prove this, while Bush does. Bush's whole purpose in Iraq is to PREVENT future massacres of innocents. Bush is too intelligent to pretend Saddam is not willing to use his weapons. I am surprised and ashamed of my fellow Americans who demand peace at all costs. And believe me, the future costs will be great.

Didn't everybody watch the war Desert Storm on CNN? Did anyone else notice that American troops didn't drop poisonous that would indiscriminatly kill? Or did Americans notice that our troops tried very hard to kill as few people as possible? Did Americans notice how military, communication, and transportation was targeted and not homes? Did anyone besides me notice how the Iraqi soldiers ran to the American lines, knowing they would be treated better by the Americans as our prisoners of war than they were treated as a citizen of Iraq by thier own leader, Saddam?

I have muslism friends. They are gentle people. But the radical muslims, whom Saddam supports, are bent on destroying us. So should I just bow my head and let them kill me and my children? I would prefer to offer them my love and understanding and goodwill, but it would be spit back in my face by these terrorists. I have one option if I want a peaceful world for my children and that is to fight hate whenever I see it. I do not hate Saddam, nor Iraq, nor the terrorists who run rampant in the world, but I will stand up to them.

I respect your right to protest the war. America gives us this right. Recently anti-war petitioners demonstrated in Iraq, with Saddam's invitation, but did he allow the Kuwaitis to demonstrate against the war he forced on them? Did he leave anyone alive in the attacks on the Iranians who could protest? I respect your rights, but I feel you give in too easily to passion and persuasion and totally ignore logic.
